John Curtis had been doing his best to convince voters that he really is a believing Republican, but apparently his efforts had the the adverse effect of causing some of his supporter to actually believe him. So, he did what any principled and courageous politician would do and pulled the ads. Now, Mitt Romney, a true icon to appeal to the heart of statist liberal Republicans, has been mustered to the cause. Mitt Romney, who recently offered up his endorsement of leftist extremist hate just to get in a cheap political punch, has offered up the necessary sacrifice of endorsement and platitudes for John Curtis, and it was enough.
With Curtis's liberal Republican base appeased, he is back on track as the heir apparent of Jason Chaffetz's crown.
Given that Utah's brand of mindless political football pretty much guaranteed Curtis a win in this election cycle, his lack of principled underpinning for the position he espoused should be all the more glaring and obvious. If he hadn't the principled spine to weather a little liberal jeering on the way to his assured victory, one can hardly imagine that he has many conservative principles at all, which is pretty much what I've said about him all along.
